University Textbook  Support for the writing of “Ecological Economics: Principles and Applications” by Herman E. Daly and Joshua Farley, Island Press, Washington, D.C., 2004.

The journal of the American Library Association, "Choice", has selected the textbook, "Ecological Economics: Principles and Applications" by Herman Daly and Joshua Farley, as one of its Outstanding Academic Titles for 2004. "Choice" reviews about 6,600 titles (mainly books) each year and selects roughly ten percent as "Outstanding". In awarding this status they apply the criteria of: scholarly excellence, importance relative to other literature in the field, originality of treatment, value to undergraduate students, and importance for library collections.

Website  This website is one of the project’s educational resources. Viewers are encouraged to use materials from the website in whatever way they wish. No prior permission is required, but we do request that you acknowledge the source.

Workbook  As an accompaniment to the above textbook of basic principles of ecological economics, support has also been provided for a workbook demonstrating how the principles might be applied to complex, real world challenges: see “Ecological Economics: A Workbook” by Joshua Farley, Jon D. Erickson and Herman E. Daly, Island Press, Washington, D.C., 2005.

Selective Promotion of the text and workbook  We are currently working with Island Press to promote the text and workbook to selected individuals in strategic positions within NGOs and governments.
