The EROI Institute at SUNY at Syracuse is working on calculations of EROI data (energy return on energy invested) for a variety of traditional and innovative energy technologies (See
Energy). They are also working on standardizing EROI methodology. The Institute is under the direction of Professor Charles A. Hall.
In 2005 The Sustainable Scale Project provided some seed funding to help establish the Institute, and has provided additional funding in 2006..
